Jennifer – Moral And Values Education For Our Young #NEG22

Meet Jennifer, a Senior Teacher (Chinese Language) in Canossaville Preschool (CPS).

When she first arrived at Magdalene’s Kindergarten (Canossaville Preschool’s former name) in 2014, she noticed that the Chinese curriculum focused on the memorisation of Chinese idioms and poems. Jennifer felt that this emphasis was not the most appropriate for pre-schoolers and suggested to the school’s management to include moral and values education into the classes instead. Today, the Canossian values of Charity, Humility, Forgiveness, and Faith are seamlessly weaved into the curriculum. This emphasis on the character development of our children is what sets CPS apart from other preschools.

For Jennifer, it was crucial for her teachers to truly have a heart for the children, and for everyone to work together in helping the children grow and develop. The Canossian value of Humility resonates the most with her. Only by having the humility to be open to correction can one improve and in turn, be better educators to the children.
