Lesson I learned from my students — Celebrating Teacher's Day
Lin Jinxiu, is a dedicated Chinese language teacher from Canossaville Preschool. She found her true calling in early childhood education when she joined Canossaville Preschool in 2006.
Coming from China, Lin Laoshi was initially unfamiliar with Singapore’s multicultural way of life and education system. Driven by a desire to help her own child adapt better, she sought to understand the local culture and educational practices. This led her to pursue a career in early childhood education, where she could bridge the gap and learn how to care for and educate young children in this diverse environment.
Over the years, Lin Laoshi has found immense joy in working with young children as she is inspired and motivated by their lively nature. Being surrounded by children from diverse faiths and backgrounds, Lin Laoshi has witnessed firsthand how a harmonious culture can be nurtured from a young age. She is deeply inspired by the way children play and learn together, embracing each other’s differences in race and learning abilities. Their pure-heartedness has not only brought her joy but has also profoundly shaped her outlook on life.
Lin Laoshi is grateful for the beautiful environment she experiences working in Canossaville. She deeply values the support and trust from the Sisters and cherishes the harmonious relationships she shares with her colleagues. For 18 years, she has played a pivotal role in fostering an environment where students share positive values and learn from one another, promoting mutual respect and understanding. Her dedication to the learning and development of children is reflected in her innovative teaching methods that cater to each child’s unique needs and potential.
