Uniquely Canossian
Recognising that each child is an individual with unique strengths, needs and talents, onsite holistic support for our children is made possible through the close collaboration between our educators and our professionals from the Canossian Child Development Unit and the Canossian Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC) educators. These include onsite intervention lessons, audiological management, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and parent guidance sessions.
With formation of the heart at the core of all that we do, each child, regardless of learning needs, is treated with respect, love, and dignity. Canossaville Preschoolers are instilled with Canossian Values through the daily acts of kindness that is incorporated as part of our lessons and interactions in and outside class.
Programmes
We believe that early childhood is a critical period for shaping both the heart and mind. Our holistic curriculum incorporates our signature programme, the Canossian Care Curriculum, where formation of the heart and enlightenment of the mind converge. These are designed to provide a nurturing environment where young children can develop emotionally, intellectually, and socially. Through our holistic approach, we aim to cultivate compassionate hearts and inquiring minds, thus empowering their spirits for lifelong learning and character development.
In our environment, your children are given a great start in life with programmes designed to nurture their all-round development as they progress through the different levels from Playgroup to K2.
Playgroup – for children aged 18 to 24 months
This is where the child’s learning journey begins. At this stage of their holistic development, the activities are focused on developing the child’s gross motor and basic fine motor skills, emotional security, and social awareness. The foundation for language skills and bilingualism in English and Mandarin is formed through stories, songs, and sensory-rich experiences.
Nursery One & Two – for children aged 2 to 4 years
The activities in this stage are designed to further enhance the child’s gross and fine motor development, balance and coordination. There is a strong focus on social skills and functional literacy in English and Mandarin – both listening and speaking. To foster the development of the whole child, children are introduced to creative and aesthetic expression through drama, music and art.
Kindergarten One & Two – for children aged 4 to 6 years
At this level, the curriculum is tailored to further enhance the child’s physical abilities, their understanding of key concepts in mathematics and science, their problem-solving and adaptive skills, as well as their musical and artistic skills. We place greater focus on fostering character and values, respect for others and diversity, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship. By this stage, the child’s resilience, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning will be well-developed, supporting a smooth transition to primary school.
