Canossian Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (Canossian EIPIC)
The Canossian Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children supports children aged 6 years and below with hearing loss through therapy services and small group intervention. This one-stop support for children with hearing loss is offered either as part of the Canossaville Preschool curriculum or as a standalone programme.

- Being situated within the Canossian Village, our Canossian EIPIC Interventionists can attend to the children without delay
- The programme is supported by a multidisciplinary team made up of professionals such as early interventionists, audiologists, speech and language, educational, and occupational therapists, psychologists, and social workers.
- Helps children transit into either a special education or a mainstream primary school by empowering them to be advocates for themselves through independent learning.
Uniquely Canossian
Canossian EIPIC specialises in supporting children to reach their full potential through the Formation of the Heart, where the focus is placed on character education. The programme is built around family centred practices such as regular parent workshops, yearly home visits, and family interventions by the early intervention team.
Early Intervention Services
Canossian EIPIC offers a continuum of early intervention services that are tailored to the varied developmental needs of the children over time in their early years.
EIPIC Under 2s - for children aged under 2 years
Emphasis on this sub-programme is placed on training parents and caregivers who accompany their child (children) during intervention classes at Canossaville.
EIPIC @ Centre - for children aged 2 to 6 years
There are 2 groups in this sub-programme:
- Children attending preschool here at Canossaville (intervention sessions take place during preschool hours)
- Children attending preschool outside of Canossaville (intervention sessions take place in the afternoons)
DS-Plus (Development Support-Plus)
This is a step-down programme from EIPIC@Centre which caters to 5 to 6 years old children who have been identified and assessed by the Early Intervention teachers and Allied Health Professionals to have progressed well to function more independently in big group settings in the mainstream preschools.

Occupational Therapy Gym
A spacious gym (donated by the Chua Foundation) allows our children to hone their gross motor skills with structured and unstructured activities to achieve individual and group goals.
Classroom
Our classrooms, for small group intervention pull-outs, are fitted with relevant visuals to aid children in learning concepts and understanding the importance of routines.
Interactive Playroom
An interactive room specially designed for sensory, imaginative and socio-dramatic play to develop and deepen social and language skills for our children.

What Do Parents Say About Us
My son was 22 months when he started EIPIC, he was only able to articulate very few single words like ‘car’, ‘papa’, and ‘mama’. A year in, he is now speaking in sentences, he will describe what he wants to do like ‘D wants to help mama’. He also developed love for reading and will ask me to read books to him before bedtime, he used to be very distracted and could not even sit through few pages. I’m thankful for the support EIPIC teachers have provided.

Victoria started her journey in Canossaville EIPIC March 2022, after bilateral implantation in Jan 2022. The support, naturing and guidance by the teachers is truly evident in the last 2 years. This is further documented by defined targets and goals, set by the EIPIC team, and with close development with the parents.
The most heartwarming feeling was during the CNY 2024, where relatives (who visit us only once or twice a year) found that Victoria could barely communicate 2 years ago, and she has caught up and formed short sentences.
All these could not have been achieved without the sheer determination and dedication by the teachers, ambassadors, Sisters of the School and Church, guiding Victoria in the right path.

As the parents of Hazirah, we would like to share our experience with the Early Intervention Programme for Infants and Children (EIPIC). Hazirah was born in 2017 and was diagnosed with hearing loss in 2020. In March 2021, she underwent cochlear implant surgery. Subsequently, we enrolled Hazirah in the EIPIC program at Canossaville Preschool. With the help of a plethora of EIPIC staff and its effectively curated program for children with hearing loss, it has greatly benefited Hazirah’s language and auditory development. She can now communicate more effectively and understand with the people in her environment. We are immensely grateful to the dedicated EIPIC team who have helped Hazirah reach her full potential.
